I speak often on the subject of nutrition, health, wellness, and fitness and several things have become clear to me. Almost everyone wants to lose weight, look better, feel better, have more energy, feel happiness and joy and just plain and simply have more fun and enjoy life. However, very few people either have the knowledge of how to do it, will listen to any advice, or if they do have good intentions their actions don't always catch up with those intentions. They simply have a hard time with change when it comes to lifestyle choices and food choices. After all, isn't that why most diets fail? Do this, don't do that, eat more of this, eat less of that. It becomes overwhelming and eventually you quit. It's the same concept as people that want to be rich but aren't willing to make the sacrifices necessary to make the money and keep it in your life.

As a vegetarian I am often asked the question “How do you get your protein without eating meat?” I love to answer this question because I know in that moment there is a chance of changing someone’s life forever. At first, the reason I switched to being a vegetarian did not have to do with the antibiotics and hormones that animals are treated with or the pesticide infested food they are fed. My reasons in the beginning were the result of an awakening that I received when viewing photographs taken of living, raw, organic foods in their natural state with a special camera. The Kirlian photography I saw revealed the electric energy that these foods contained before being cooked and before being chemically altered or microwaved and it was at that moment that I realized that the answer to true longevity, anti-aging, health and quite simply feeling awesome everyday was to introduce some of these foods into my diet.

I remember the first time I really “got it” in regards to organic foods and their enormous benefits. I was standing in a supermarket which sold primarily organic food products called Whole Foods market. I had just finished a long run and was just looking for something healthy to eat. I walked through the produce section and was in awe at the amazing beauty of the fruits and vegetables as the misty filtered water sprayed them as if in slow motion. The purple, green, and red kale in particular were as alive as if they had not yet been picked. In fact green leafy vegetables are indeed breathing living organic substances. They are packed with chlorophyll that is nearly identical to human blood. It is for this reason that green leafy vegetables are perhaps the greatest single food on the face of the earth.

Energy comes from many places such as emotional uplift, adrenaline, Biological processes at the cellular level, but at the core it is the state of someone’s Acid-Alkaline balance. Don’t touch that Dial!! And I don’t mean the dial on your TV but the dial on your Microwave. I have not used a microwave oven in quite some time. When I did use one I had always had this awkward gut feeling like something was strange about a bright light and a weird wind like sound that would heat up the food I placed in the microwave.
